- Mount St. Mary's opened Northeast Conference play with a 66-47 loss to Wagner at home on Thursday night. Omar Habwe led the Mount with 13 points while Vado Morse added 11 points and six rebounds. Malik Jefferson pulled down a game-high 11 rebounds in the loss. The Mount shot just 12-of-50 (.240) from the field in the game, including 3-of-20 (.150) from three-point range.
- Omar Habwe led the Mount with 13 points off the bench in the loss to Wagner on Thursday. Habwe is averaging 7.2 points and 4.1 rebounds in 21.0 minutes per game as the Mount's sixth man. Habwe is averaging 11.3 points over the past four games, shooting 48.3 percent from the field and 8-of-16 (.500) from three-point range over that stretch. He scored a season-high 17 points in the Mount's loss to American on December 17.
- Mount St. Mary's is 30-33 all-time against Long Island in the series that began in 1934. The teams split the season series last year with each winning on their home court. Mount St. Mary's is 18-12 all-time at home against Long Island and has won six of the past seven matchups at Knott Arena. Mount St. Mary's is 7-4 over the past 11 meetings between the two teams. Prior to that stretch, LIU had won eight of the previous nine matchups.
- Malik Jefferson grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds in the Mount's loss to Wagner on Thursday night. It is the sixth time this season that Jefferson has reached double figures in rebounds, and he leads the team with 7.8 boards per game. Jefferson is averaging 10.5 rebounds over the past two games.
