- Mount St. Mary's stretched its win streak to three with an impressive 59-39 victory over St. Francis Brooklyn on Monday night. Vado Morse scored 16 of his game-high 19 points in the first half to pace the offense while Nana Opoku chipped in his second career double-double with 17 points and 10 boards. Damian Chong Qui continued his breakout season with 16 points, seven rebounds and five assists in the win.
- The Mountaineers held St. Francis Brooklyn to 39 points on Monday night, the fewest points by a Mount opponent since a 57-38 victory at Wagner on Feb. 28, 2004. Mount St. Mary's, which leads the Northeast Conference in field goal percentage defense in league games at 37.4 percent, held the Terriers to 23.7 percent shooting overall (14-of-59) and 3-of-27 (.111) from three-point range.
- Nana Opoku ignited the crowd with a highlight reel dunk early in the second half of the 20-point victory at St. Francis Brooklyn on Monday night. Damian Chong Qui found Opoku in the lane in transition, and the redshirt sophomore took off from the Northeast Conference logo in the paint for the emphatic slam. The play, which sparked a 14-to-4 run, was the top play on ESPN's Sports Center that night.
- The Mount defense has stood out over the first two games of this three-game homestand. The Mount allowed just 45.5 points while holding the opposition to 27.3 percent shooting (30-for-110) overall and 16.7 percent (6-of-36) from three-point range. The Mount has held 12 of 19 opponents under 65 points this season, posting a 7-5 record in those contests.
- The Mount is coming off back-to-back wins of 20 or more points with a 79-52 victory over CCSU and a 59-39 win over St. Francis Brooklyn. It is the first time the Mount has posted back-to-back victories of 20 or more points since February of 2010. That season the Mount defeated CCSU (85-58 on Feb. 18) and Bryant (74-45 on Feb. 20).
