MOUNT UPDATE: The Mount St. Mary's men's soccer program opened up their second season since being reinstated to a varsity sport with 4-3 victory over the Winthrop Eagles. Trailing 3-2 in the second half, the Mount scored twice in a span of 37 seconds to earn the high-scoring victory. Yann Kouemi, McKenzie Ali, Boris Nana Tonzi, and Juan Molina were the goal scorers for the Mountaineers while Andrew Chwalik came up big with five saves in net.
ABOUT BUCKNELL: Last year, the Bison finished the season with a 6-8-3 mark overall and a 3-5-1 record in the Patriot League, failing to make the conference playoffs. The Bison opened up the 2019 season with a 2-1 loss against Northeast Conference foe Fairleigh Dickinson, but bounced back with a 4-1 win over Canisius. Flashing back to last season, Bucknell defeated the Mountaineers 2-0 to open up the 2018 season.
PRESEASON POLL: The Mount St. Mary's men's soccer team has been picked to finish in seventh place in the annual Northeast Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll. Saint Francis U was selected as the preseason favorite, followed by St. Francis Brooklyn, Fairleigh Dickinson, Bryant, Long Island, Robert Morris, the Mount, Sacred Heart, Central Connecticut and Merrimack.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE: The Mountaineers will round out there road trip at Greene Stadium against Howard on September 10. The Mount's next home game is Saturday, September 14 against Navy
