Lewisburg, Pa. (September 20, 2019) – The Mount St. Mary's women's tennis team advanced a doubles team to the semifinals of the Bison Invite on Friday. Taylor Cook and Mia Pittman defeated Marist's doubles team of Vanessa Ciano and Sophia Chavarria (6-4) to advance to the semifinals of the "B" doubles bracket. They will face Villanova's pairing of Sabina Grigiorian and Taylor Gould tomorrow. 

Alexa Quintanilla fell in the top singles flight to Villanova's Claudia Althans. She will face Kaylan Rotman of Villanova in the consolation bracket tomorrow. Logan Lencheski and Taylor Cook both lost in the women's "B" singles bracket to a pair of Wildcats. Cook was defeated 4-6, 1-6 to Caitlin Fisher while Amanda Rivera defeated Lencheski 6-0, 7-6.  

Megan Smith dropped a tough fought match to Marist's Sophia Chavarria (2-6, 6-2, 6-10) in the first round of the women's "C" bracket. Hannah Davis also fell in the first round to Bucknell's Rachel Carroll 2-6, 0-6. Smith and Davis will continue play tomorrow in the consolation bracket. Karen Anderson was defeated by Marist's Amy Galloway 0-6, 0-6. Anderson advanced to the finals of the women's "D" consolation final after Maddie Rippa of Bucknell had to withdraw from the tournament.  

In the women's doubles "A" bracket Quintanilla and Davis fell 0-6 to Bucknell's Daniela Bellini and Paige Leavy. Smith and Lencheski also fell to a pairing from Villanova 2-6. Both teams will continue play in the consolation round tomorrow. While Cook and Pittman were able to advance in the women's doubles "B" bracket, Schisler and Anderson fell to a Bucknell team 0-6. 

The tournament continues tomorrow starting at 9:10 AM and will conclude Sunday, September 22.
