MOUNT UPDATE:  The Mount St. Mary's men's soccer program made its return as a varsity sport at the Mount in 2018, finishing the campaign with two victories and four draws. The Mountaineers had a pair of players earn end-of-the-year honors, as Boris Nana Tonzi was named to the All-NEC Second Team, and Jonathan Godette was selected to the All-Rookie Team.

ABOUT WINTHROP:  Winthrop opens the 2019 season at VMI on Friday before heading to the Mount on Sunday.  Last year, the Eagles went 4-11-0 overall and 3-5 in the Big South.  Winthrop returns nine players that started at least eight games. In addition to the nine starters the team has a total of 15 players returning that played at least seven games.

ALL-TIME SERIES:  This is the first-ever meeting between the Mount and Winthrop.

PRESEASON POLL:  The Mount St. Mary's men's soccer team has been picked to finish in seventh place in the annual Northeast Conference Preseason Coaches Poll.  Saint Francis U was selected as the preseason favorite, followed by St. Francis Brooklyn, Fairleigh Dickinson, Bryant, Long Island, Robert Morris, the Mount, Sacred Heart, Central Connecticut and Merrimack.

UPCOMING SCHEDULE:  The Mountaineers play their next two games on the road, at Bucknell on September 6 and at Howard on September 10.  The Mount's next home game is Saturday, September 14, against Navy.
