MOUNT UPDATE
The Mountaineers lost at Sacred Heart, 3-1, last Friday to fall to 6-6-0 overall and 2-2-0 in the Northeast Conference. Segundo Navarro scored the first of his three goals early in the game to give the Pioneers the lead. The Mount's Yann Kouemi notched his NEC-leading eight goal on a penalty kick in the 56th minute, but Navarro scored six minutes later to seal the win. Kouemi leads the Mountaineers with eight goals and 17 points this season while Miguel Lucero has a team-high six assists. Riccardo Zonta has started each of the past seven games in goal, posting a 2.11 goals against average and .651 save percentage.
SCOUTING BRYANT
Bryant enters Friday's matchup with a 6-5-0 overall record and a 3-2-0 mark in the Northeast Conference. The Bulldogs are coming off back-to-back at Saint Francis U (3-1) and St. Francis Brooklyn (3-0). Alex DeCosta leads the team with six goals and five assists for 17 points while Ben Williams has five goals and 12 points. In goal, Olivier Larente has started all 11 games with a 1.38 goals against average and a .702 save percentage.
ALL-TIME SERIES
Mount St. Mary's holds a 4-0-1 lead in the all-time series with Bryant that began in 2009. Last year, the Mount and Bryant battled to a 1-1 draw at the Mount's Waldron Family Stadium. The Mountaineers are 2-0-0 all-time on the road against Bryant, including a 3-1 win in their last game in Smithfield on October 16, 2011.
LAST YEAR'S MATCHUP
The Mount and Bryant played to a 1-1 tie at the Mount's Waldron Family Stadium on October 19 last season. Ben Williams scored on a header in the 10th minute of play to give Bryant the early lead. Boris Nana Tonzi evened the score in the 24th minute when he converted a through pass from Gavin Shirley. SCOUTING MERRIMACK
Merrimack enters Sunday's contest leading the Northeast Conference with a perfect 5-0-0 record while holding a 7-3-2 overall mark. The Warriors are coming off back-to-back 1-0 victories over St. Francis Brooklyn (Oct. 13) and Saint Francis U (Oct. 20). Aasmund Joedahl and Filippo Beglairdi Ghidini are tied for the team lead with four goals and two assists each while Mirko Nufi and Tola Showunmi each have three goals. Lucas Rezende has played every minute in goal this season for Merrimack, tallying a 0.87 goals against average, 50 saves and six shutouts.
