Olando, Fla. (March 6, 2017) - The Mount St. Mary's women's tennis team was downed 6-1 by Western Carolina on Monday morning.
Alexa Quintanilla put Mount St. Mary's ahead early with a 6-4, 6-2 win in the first flight of singles action but Western Carolina won the next five flights taking command of the match. Hannah Davis lost the first set of the fifth flight but would win the next set to force a tie-breaker set. The third set was battled back and forth but Riley downed Davis to give her victory in the flight.
In the first flight of doubles action, Quintanilla and Kamprath fought back and forth against Taranto and Strickland but WC won the flight and won the next two flights as well.
