ABOUT THE MOUNT
The Mount returns to action for their opening match of the spring at Navy on Saturday, January 21 at 2 p.m. in Annapolis, Md. The Mountaineers competed in a pair of invitationals in the fall before closing out the semester with matches against Towson and Monmouth. The Mount fell to Towson by a 6-1 final, but were able to manage a 6-1 win over Monmouth to end the semester on a high note. The Mount swept doubles play against the Hawks, and won five of six singles matches to claim the victory. Rookie Alexa Quintanilla posted a 6-3, 6-0 win at the second flight of singles, Sruthi Kamprath won by a 7-5, 6-1 margin at No. 4, Erin Benefiel registered a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 5 and Hannah Davis cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win at the sixth flight. Quintanilla leads the Mount in both singles (5) and doubles (4) victories in the early stages of the 2016-17 campaign.
