1. Mount St. Mary's lost to Wagner, 73-63, at home on Saturday to fall into a three-way tie for first place in the Northeast Conference. BK Ashe led th Mountaineers with 21 points while Gregory Graves added 14 in the loss. The Mount fell behind 43-21 at the half before staging a second-half rally. The Mount opened the half with a 22-to-5 run to cut the deficit to 48-43, but would get no closer.
2. The Mount had a sellout crowd of 3,121 against Wagner on its Winter Homecoming on Saturday. It was the Mount's first sellout since March 1, 2003. That was the final game of legendary Mount coach Jim Phelan's career.
3. Junior guard BK Ashe averaged 20.0 points and 5.0 rebounds for the Mount last week. He scored 21 points in the Mount's loss to Wagner, the fourth time this year he has scored 20 or more in a game. Ashe has nine career games with 20 or more points, the ninth-most by a Mount player since moving to NCAA Division I in 1988-89.
4. The Mountaineers continue to thrive on the defensive end. The Mount leads the NEC in defensive efficiency (92.0) in league games. Mount St. Mary's is second in the country in defensive turnover percentage (25.8), third in turnovers forced per game (18.43) and third in turnover margin (+5.7).
5. Mount St. Mary's heads to Wagner on Saturday to complete the short two-game road trip.
