FINAL RESULTS

Emmitsburg, Md. (October 9, 2016) – Erin Benefiel won the consolation championship of Flight B singles to highlight the final day of the Mount St. Mary's Invitational on Sunday.

After dropping her opening round match, Benefiel topped teammate Hannah Davis, 6-1, 6-4 in the consolation semifinals and downed Brittany McBride of Mary Washington, 6-2, 6-4, in the finals to claim the championship.

In Flight A singles, Alexa Quintanilla advanced the furthest of any Mountaineer as the freshman reached the semifinals. Quintanilla registered a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Taylor Diffley of Mary Washington and a 6-0, 4-6, 10-5 win over Morgan State's Chloe Kabamba before falling to Danielle Thompson of Morgan State, 6-3, 6-3.

The Mount is back in action on October 20 for a match with Towson at 3 p.m. in Emmitsburg.
