ABOUT THE MOUNT
The Mountaineers opened the 2016-17 season at the Bucknell Invitational and followed with competition at the Mount St. Mary's Invitational two weeks ago. Alexa Quintanilla highlighted the Mount Invitational, advancing the furthest of any Mountaineer at the tournament. The rookie posted victories over Taylor Diffley (6-2, 6-1) of Mary Washington and Chloe Kabamba (6-0, 4-6, 10-5) of Morgan State to reach the semifinals of Flight A singles, where she eventually fell to Morgan State's Danielle Thompson. Senior Erin Benefiel also won the consolation championship of Flight B singles following victories over teammate Hannah Davis (6-1, 6-4) and Brittany McBride (6-2, 6-4) of Mary Washington.

INSIDE THE MATCHUPS
The Mount and Towson are set for the 26th all-time meeting in series history on Thursday. The Tigers have won six straight matchups, including a 7-0 win last season on their home court.

The Mount owns a 17-4 advantage in the all-time series with Monmouth and has lost just once in the last 16 meetings, which came last season when the Hawks posted a 5-2 victory in West Long Branch, N.J.

NEXT UP
The Mountaineers are off from competition for the remainder of the fall semester, and return to action on January 21 at Navy.
