Box Score Teaneck, N.J. (January 24, 2016)—Gregory Graves (Sterling, Va.) scored a season-high 22 points as Mount St. Mary's rolled to an 87-72 win at Fairleigh Dickinson on Sunday afternoon in a matchup of teams tied for first place in the Northeast Conference.
Graves led five Mountaineers in double figures as BK Ashe (Washington, D.C.) and Chris Wray (Shelby, N.C.) each added 14 points, Taylor Danaher (Fredericksburg, Va.) 11 and Elijah Long (Mississauga, Ont.) 10 in the victory.
The Mount, Fairleigh Dickinson and Wagner entered the day in a three-way tie for first place in the NEC.
After FDU (9-10, 5-3 NEC) took the early 2-1 lead, the Mountaineers rattled off a 17-0 run to take control of the game.  Long started the run with a lay-up ahead of a Wray basket. Will Miller (Dallas, Texas) nailed a three-pointer before Long and Danaher each scored in the paint to push give the Mount a 12-2 lead.  Danher added two free throws, Long scored in transition after a steal, and Graves scored in the paint to end the scoring spurt.
The Mountaineers (9-12, 6-2 NEC) held its biggest lead of the first half, 40-18, with 2:56 left after a Graves three-pointer.  The Mount settled for a 44-25 lead at the break.
The Knights were able to cut the Mount advantage to 54-43 with 11:24 remaining, but a 9-0 Mount run capped by a Junior Robinson (Mebane, N.C.) three-point play put the game away.
Graves finished the game with 22 points and seven boards while Wray went 7-for-7 from the field to finish with 14 points and six rebounds.  Danaher just missed a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds.  Long, coming off a career-high 20-point effort at Sacred Heart, added 10 points, six assists, four steals and three rebounds in a solid all-around game.
Marques Townes led all scorers in the game with 26 points for FDU while Darian Anderson chipped in 19 in the loss.
The Mount returns to action on Thursday, January 28, when Robert Morris visits Knott Arena for a 7:00 p.m. matchup.  The game will air live on CBS Sports Network.
