1. Mount St. Mary's opened Northeast Conference play with a 79-63 win over LIU Brooklyn on Saturday at Knott Arena. Trailing 15-14 midway through the first half, the Mount went on a 21-to-4 run to take control of the game. The Mount led by 15 at the half, and by as much as 22 points in the second half. BK Ashe led five Mountaineers in double figures with 16 points. The Mount shot 9-of-21 (.429) from three-point range while forcing LIU Brooklyn into 21 turnovers in the win.
2. The Mount had five players scored in double figures in the 79-63 win over LIU Brooklyn on Saturday. BK Ashe led the way with 16 points, with Gregory Graves (14), Chris Wray (13), Junior Robinson (13) and Elijah Long (13) also reaching double figures. It is the first time the Mount had five players reach double figures in the same game since six players did on March 2, 2013 in a 103-82 win at Fairleigh Dickinson.
3. The Mount's win over LIU Brooklyn on Saturday was the team's first win in an NEC opener since a 66-52 win at Sacred Heart on Dec. 2, 2010. The Mount is looking to start 2-0 in NEC play for the first time since the 2007-08 season.
4. Mount St. Mary's forced LIU Brooklyn into 21 turnovers in the win on Saturday, the fourth time this season the Mount has forced 20 or more turnovers in a game. The Mount is second in the nation, forcing a turnover on 26.1 percent of its defensive possessions.
5. Up next, the Mountaineers continue their four-game homestand on Thursday against Central Connecticut.
