The Mount St. Mary's University men's basketball team hosts Bucknell on Tuesday night at Knott Arena. The Mountaineers are looking to extend their win streak to three games.
FIRST FIVE
1. BK Ashe scored a game-high 22 points while Gregory Graves added a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds to pace Mount St. Mary's past rival Loyola, 85-68, on Saturday. Junior Robinson chipped in 17 points and six assists as the Mount moved to 99-72 all-time against the Greyhounds. The Mountaineers scored 30 points off 26 Loyola turnovers in the game while hitting 12-of-22 (.545) from three-point range. The Mount led by as many as 24 points (59-35) in the second half.
2. Junior guard BK Ashe has been named the Northeast Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week. Ashe sparked the Mountaineers to a pair of home wins last week, averaging 17.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.5 steals while shooting 52.2 percent from the field and 71.4 percent from three-point range.
3. Mount St. Mary's is sixth in the nation in turnover margin at +6.4 per game. The Mountaineers are also seventh in the country in turnover percentage, forcing a turnover on 25.4 percent of its defensive possessions. For the year, the Mount is averaging 12.4 turnovers per game while forcing 18.8. The Mount is averaging 32.5 points off turnovers over the past two games.
4. The Mount improved to 31-9 (.775) at home under head coach Jamion Christian. The Mount will not return to Knott Arena until a four-game homestand to start Northeast Conference play beginning on January 2nd against LIU Brooklyn.
