Box Score Harrisonburg, Va. (December 22, 2015)—Mount St. Mary's University fell at James Madison, 73-53, on Tuesday night despite 17 points from Charles Glover and 14 points from Gregory Graves.
Trailing 29-20 at the half, Glover quickly shot the Mount back into the game with a pair of three-pointers in a span of 11 seconds to cut the deficit to 30-26. James Madison, however, answered back with a 17-to-2 run to push the lead back to 47-28. From there, the Dukes led by double figures the rest of the way.
Glover hit 5-of-11 from three-point range in the game en route to his 17-point effort. The sophomore guard is averaging 19.5 points over his past two games. Graves chipped in 14 points and seven rebounds in the game. Junior Robinson added eight points while BK Ashe finished with seven points and four steals.
The Mount forced JMU into 24 turnovers in the contest. Mount St. Mary's shot 31.1 percent from the field and was 9-of-29 (.310) from three-point range. James Madison shot 53.3 percent overall.
Dimitrije Cabarkapa led James Madison with 15 points and 13 rebounds while Ron Curry and Shakir Brown each had 13 points in the game.
The Mountaineers got off to a slow start as James Madison pulled ahead, 10-0, in the opening six minutes. A Graves three-point play started a 9-4 Mount run that made the score 14-9 midway through the first half. After James Madison pushed the lead to 23-9, the Mount closed the half on an 11-to-6 spurt to make the score 29-20 at the half.
The Mount hit just 7-of-27 (.259) from the field and 2-of-10 (.200) from three-point range in the opening half. The defense did force James Madison into 12 first-half turnovers.
The Mount is back in action at Binghamton on Tuesday, December 29, at 7:00 p.m.
