The Mount St. Mary's University men's basketball team visits James Madison on Tuesday night. This will be the first meeting between the two teams since a First Round matchup in the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament in 2009.
FIRST FIVE
1. Mount St. Mary's fell to Lehigh, 76-73, on Saturday night despite a career night from sophomore guard Charles Glover. The Mount rallied from a 13-point first-half deficit to take a 73-68 lead, but Lehigh was able to score the final eight points of the game to earn the win. Glover had career highs of 22 points and seven assists while hitting 6-of-9 from three-point range in the game. BK Ashe added 18 points with Gregory Graves chipping in 15 points in the game. The Mount shot 53.8 percent (28-of-52) from the field in the game.
2. Bench scoring has been a positive for the Mountaineers this season. The Mount bench provided a season-high 48 points at Lehigh on Saturday night. Over the past five games, the Mount bench is averaging 42.6 points per game, scoring 40 or more four times.
3. The Mount has picked up its offense over the past seven games, averaging 73.9 points while hitting 46.9 percent from the field and 36.9 percent from three-point range. The Mount has scored 70 or more points in five of the seven games, topping 80 points on three occasions. For the season, the Mountaineers are now averaging 68.2 points per game.
4. Senior center Taylor Danaher is averaging 10.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.9 blocks over the past seven games. He is shooting 75.7 percent (28-of-37) from the field over that span. Over his past five games, Danaher has made 17 of 19 (.895) from the field.
5. The Mountaineers conclude the non-conference schedule at Binghamton on Tuesday, December 29, at 7 p.m.
