The Mount St. Mary's University men's basketball team looks to stretch its win streak to four with a Saturday afternoon matchup with local rival UMBC. The Mountaineers swept their three-game homestand last week, rallying from a 14-point halftime deficit for an 81-73 win over Bucknell on Tuesday.
FIRST FIVE
1. Junior Robinson had 19 points and nine assists to lead Mount St. Mary's to a come-from-behind 81-73 win over Bucknell on Tuesday. Trailing by 17 points in the first half and 44-30 at the break, the Mount outscored Bucknell, 51-29, in the second half to secure the victory. BK Ashe added 14 points with Charles Glover chipping in 10 points and six boards in the victory. The Mount shot 63.0 percent (17-of-27) from the field in the second half.
2. The Mount offense was clicking during its three-game homestand, averaging 82.3 points in wins over American, Loyola and Bucknell. The Mount scored 80 or more points in all three games, marking the first time since the 2012-13 season that the Mount has done that.
3. Center Taylor Danaher leads the Mountaineers with 13 blocks this season, including six over the past three games. Danaher now has 103 career blocks, moving him into ninth place all-time at the Mount, right behind Angelo Frazier (105, 1978-82) and Kelly Beidler (107, 2006-10).
4. The Mount swept its three-game homestand with wins over American (81-56), Loyola (85-68) and Bucknell (81-73). It is the Mount's first three-game win streak since 2014. That year, the Mount won the final game of the regular season and then captured three games to win the NEC Tournament.
5. Up next, the Mountaineers head to Lehigh on Saturday, December 19, for a 7:00 p.m. matchup. This will be the first-ever meeting between the two schools.
