Box Score Columbus, Ohio (November 15, 2015)—Mount St. Mary's fell to Ohio State, 76-54, on Sunday afternoon at Value City Arena. Sophomore guard Junior Robinson (Mebane, N.C.) paced the Mountaineers with 16 points while Charles Glover (Bowie, Md.) added a career-high 11 points in the loss.
Ohio State (1-0) used a 17-0 run midway through the first half to take control of the game. The Buckeyes held a 42-21 lead at the half.
The Mount (0-2), playing their second game against a Big Ten opponent in three days, fought back in the second half. Trailing by 24 points with 14:53 remaining, the Mountaineers went on a 12-2 run to cut the deficit to 54-40 with 10:37 left in the second half.
Robinson started the run with a jumper, Chris Wray (Shelby, N.C.) scored in the paint, Glover added back-to-back three-pointers, and Gregory Graves (Sterling, Va.) added a put back basket during the run.
Ohio State was able to counter the Mount with an 8-2 run to regain control and earn the win.
Robinson went 6-for-11 from the field for his 16 points while Glover was 4-for-7 from the field and 3-of-4 from three-point range for his career-high 11 points. Graves added eight points while Will Miller (Dallas, Texas) and BK Ashe (Washington, D.C.) each finished with seven.
Jae'Sean Tate led the Buckeyes with 21 points and nine rebounds while Marc Loving (15 pts, 11 rebs) and Keita Bates-Diop (10 pts, 10 rebs) added double-doubles.
The Mount shot 33.3 percent in the game while hitting 7-of-25 (.280) from three-point range. Mount St. Mary's forced the Buckeyes into 18 turnovers. Ohio State shot 50.0 percent while holding a 50-22 edge on the boards.
The Mount continues its road trip with a Thursday night game at Washington. Tip-off is set for 10:30 p.m. ET and the game will air live on the Pac-12 Network.
