MOUNT UPDATE: With Northeast Conference play set to get underway on Oct. 3, the Mount hosts Howard on Friday night in the second-to-last tuneup in the non-conference slate.
LAST TIME OUT: The Mount outshot Loyola by a 9-5 margin in the second half of Sunday's game, but could not crack Loyola goalkeeper Colleen Folan in a 2-0 loss to conclude the first-ever Battle of Baltimore. Against Loyola, Emma Blair fired a team-best three shots for the Mount, which took a season-high 11 shots on the day.
ABOUT HOWARD: Seeking their first win of the season at 0-6-1, the Bison have played three overtime games with losses to Loyola and East Tennessee State to go with a tie against Radford. Nia Walcott and Treschelle Gibson-Serrette lead the Bison with a pair of goals apiece. Last time out on Tuesday, Howard outshot Longwood, 13-11, but fell by a 1-0 final score.
LAST TIME VS. HOWARD: Then-sophomore Alicia Mirando powered the Mount past Howard with goals in both halves of a 2-1 road win in September of 2012. Brinley Watts and Emma Blair registered assists on the afternoon. The victory improved the Mount's record to 3-2, marking the best five-game stretch to open a season since 1994.
ALL-TIME SERIES VS. HOWARD: The Mount sports a 6-3-2 all-time record versus Howard, including a 1-1-0 mark during Tom Gosselin's time as head coach. The series dates back to the initial meeting in 1996. In games in Emmitsburg versus Howard, the Mount is 2-3-0.
ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM: For their play at the Battle of Baltimore, center backs Nicole Vallely and Cia Makrigiorgos earned All-Tournament team recognition after anchoring the Mount's back line.
