MOUNT UPDATE: Sunday's game versus Lehigh marks the home opener at Waldron Family Stadium for the Mountaineers. The Mount kicked off the 2014 season with tough losses to George Washington, Temple and American on the road. Through three games, junior goalkeeper Rachel Bourne has registered 12 saves, while fellow junior Vicky Cocozza has made nine saves.
ABOUT LEHIGH: The Mountain Hawks began the season on a high note, defeating Binghamton by a 2-0 margin at home on Aug. 24. Following the shutout, senior goalkeeper Ashley Blanks earned Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week, while freshman Grace Correll notched one goal and one assist to take home Rookie of the Week accolades. Lehigh went 5-10-2 a season ago with a 3-6-0 league record.
ALL-TIME SERIES VS. LEHIGH: Sunday will mark the second-ever meeting between the Mount and Lehigh. The two sides squared off in 2007 in Emmitsburg with the Mountain Hawks picking up a 1-0 victory.
MOUNT VS. THE PATRIOT LEAGUE: Lehigh is the second of five Patriot League schools on the Mount's schedule in 2014. The Mountaineers played American on Aug. 28. Later in the year, the Mount will face Bucknell, Loyola and Navy. Against schools currently making up the 10-team Patriot League, the Mount's all-time record is 6-53-3.
MOUNT AT WALDRON FAMILY STADIUM: Since Waldron Family Stadium opened on Oct. 15, 2006, the Mount has compiled an 18-39-7 record at home. The Mount went 2-5-2 at home in 2013.
GETTING EXPERIENCE: Through three games, seven different players have made their collegiate debuts for the Mount. Three freshmen, Cia Makrigiorgos, Jordan Fine and Kristen Morawski have earned starts in the early going of the 2014 campaign.
TOM GOSSELIN: Head Coach Tom Gosselin, a 1991 Mount St. Mary's graduate, is in his eighth season at the helm at his alma mater. Since taking over before the start of the 2007 season, Gosselin has won 35 games and is four away from tying Paul Wood for the most wins in school history.
