MOUNT UPDATE: With less than two weeks remaining before the Northeast Conference Championships, the Mount is scheduled to play five matches, including Sunday's tilt at George Mason. The Mountaineers have won three of their last four and are 5-5 away from home on the year. Four different Mount players have reached double-digit victories led by freshmen Erin Benefiel and Kelly Smith, who both have 11 wins on the year.
LAST TIME OUT: The Mount took down in-state opponent Coppin State by a final score of 7-0 on the road on April 2. The Mount won all three doubles and all six singles matches to sweep the Eagles on the day. At the No. 1 slot, Samantha Pinchoff was a 6-0, 6-0 winner for the Mountaineers.
ABOUT GEORGE MASON: The Patriots are coming off a 4-2 home loss to Howard on April 2. Brittany Pilkington has won eight singles matches, including five at the No. 1 position to lead the Patriots. In the spring opener on Jan. 19, George Mason suffered a 5-1 loss at the hands of Northeast Conference opponent Saint Francis U.
ALL-TIME SERIES VS. GEORGE MASON: The Mount won six of the first seven matches against George Mason when the Mount moved to Division I before the start of the 1988-89 season. Since 1997, however, the Patriots have taken 14 of the last 15 meetings and lead the all-time series 15-7. The Mount's last win versus George Mason was Sept. 7, 2007.
MOUNT VS. ATLANTIC-10: The Mount's all-time record versus teams in the Atlantic-10 is 19-32. The Mount's seven wins versus George Mason are the most for the Mount among current A-10 schools, while six wins against Saint Joseph's are the second most for the Mountaineers.
SPRING WEATHER: Sunday's match was originally scheduled for March 30, but was postponed due to rain. Earlier in the spring, the Mount had a home match versus Bucknell postponed twice due to inclement weather.
