West Windsor, N.J. (April 17, 2014) – The Mount St. Mary's women's tennis team fell to second-seeded LIU Brooklyn by a final score of 4-0 in Thursday's Northeast Conference Quarterfinals at the Mercer County Tennis Center. The seventh-seeded Mountaineers finish the season with a 9-13 record.

The Blackbirds (8-8) advance to the Semifinals where they square off with the winner of Bryant versus Robert Morris. LIU took the doubles point for a 1-0 edge heading to singles.

The Mount battled in singles action before LIU claimed victories courtesy of Marine Dans (No. 3) Isabella Wagener (No. 3) and Katya Yegoreychenko (No. 5).

In her No. 2 singles match, senior Liz Rossi dropped the first set to Lisa Maas, but was leading in the second set by a 4-3 margin when the match ended. In another unfinished match, Danielle Nguyen fell behind Nancy Zonneveld in the first set at No. 6, but bounced back and was holding a 3-1 advantage in the second set when LIU clinched the win with victories in other singles matches.

Thursday marked the final career matches for the Mount's seniors, Rossi and Samantha Pinchoff, who combined for 82 career singles wins.
