Teaneck, N.J. (April 12, 2014) – The Mount St. Mary's women's tennis team suffered a 6-1 loss at Fairleigh Dickinson on Saturday afternoon at the FDU Tennis Center in the Northeast Conference finale.
Mount St. Mary's (8-12, 1-3 NEC) struggled against the NEC-leading Knights (9-4, 4-0 NEC), losing the doubles point before falling in the five singles matches that were played on the day. The Mount picked up its point at No. 6 singles by default.
The lone three-set singles match on the day was played at the No. 1 position where Samantha Pinchoff went toe-to-toe with FDU's Ksenija Tihomirova. Pinchoff was a 6-3 winner in the first set, but lost in the second and third sets by scores of 6-1 and 13-11.
The Mount concludes the regular season with a non-conference match at Saint Peter's tomorrow.
