MOUNT UPDATE: The Mount looks to run its record above .500 for the first time since Feb. 27 with a non-conference match versus Bucknell on Thursday. Folllowing Thursday's match, the Mount plays at home one more time, on April 10 versus Howard, with the other five regular season matches on the road.
LAST TIME OUT: The Mount picked up a pair of 7-0 victories last week with wins over Wagner on March 21 and UMES on March 22. In the most recent match on Saturday versus UMES, the Mount swept every doubles and singles match. UMES defaulted at No. 3 doubles and No. 5 and 6 singles, and the Mount won the two doubles and four singles matches that were played. Seeing their first action of the spring, Kayla Barrett and Isabella Draper teamed up for an 8-0 victory at No. 2 doubles.
ABOUT BUCKNELL: The Bison lost their first three matches of the year, but have turned their season around with two wins in their last three matches. Last time out, Bucknell took down Loyola Maryland, 5-2, at home on March 22. Maria Cioffi, who has played a majority of the season at the No. 2 singles slot, leads the way with 11 wins on the year. One of the Bison's four losses is to NEC opponent Saint Francis U by a 4-3 final score.
ALL-TIME SERIES VS. BUCKNELL: After winning the first two matchups in 1993 and 1994, the Mount has dropped 14 in a row to the Bison.
MOUNT VS. PATRIOT LEAGUE: The Mount is 2-14 all-time versus Bucknell, but is 19-24 against the rest of the Patriot League. The Mount has won eight matches versus Loyola Maryland and six against Lehigh.
SISTER ACT: The Mount's top doubles duo of sisters Kelly and Jennifer Smith lead the team with 10 wins in 2013-14. Individually, Kelly Smith is tied with Erin Benefiel for the team lead with 10 singles victories.
UP NEXT: The Mount competes at George Mason on Sunday, March 30. The road match is slated for a noon start.
