Emmitsburg, Md. (October 4, 2014) – The Mount women's tennis team notched a number of victories at the Mount St. Mary's Invitational on Saturday in the first home action of the fall season.

In doubles play, freshmen Sruthi Kamprath and Cassandra Powell downed Dickinson's Joana Nunes and Sydney Diamond, 8-3, in Flight A, while Erin Benefiel and Danielle Nguyen secured an 8-3 win in Flight B play against Julie Clark and Nicole Eberle from Loyola.

Five Mount players posted 1-1 records in singles on Saturday. Kelly Smith defeated Ania Krawiec of Loyola in a hard-fought 6-4, 2-6, (10-7) Flight B victory.  

In matches versus players from Dickinson, Nguyen and Powell picked up straight-set Flight C wins, and Jennifer Smith and Isabella Draper were also winners in straight sets in Flight D.

Play will conclude tomorrow with one round of singles and two rounds of doubles.
