MOUNT UPDATE: The Mount women's soccer team heads into a crucial Northeast Conference weekend looking to move into the playoff picture with home games versus Bryant on Friday, Oct. 17, and Robert Morris on Sunday, Oct. 19. In last year's matchups on the road, the Mount defeated Bryant and tied Robert Morris.
LAST TIME OUT: The Mount looks to bounce back from a pair of Northeast Conference road losses in New York last weekend. After falling to Wagner by a 1-0 final score on Oct. 10, the Mount was handed a 5-1 defeat at LIU Brooklyn on Oct. 12. Emma Blair scored the Mount's goal at LIU.
ABOUT BRYANT: The Bulldogs, which have played six overtime games this season, are currently tied for fifth in the NEC with a 1-1-1 conference record. Carrying a 3-10-1 overall mark, Bryant is coming off a scoreless tie at Wagner on Oct. 12. Seven different players have scored for Bryant, led by Katy Biagi's three goals.
LAST YEAR VS. BRYANT: After a rocky start that saw the Bulldogs score just 3:43 into last year's game on Oct. 20 in Smithfield, R.I., the Mount bounced back to level the game at 1-1 in the 34th minute before finding the game-winner in the 87th minute for a 2-1 win. Jackie Corley tallied the Mount's first goal, and Keriann McGettigan put the Mount on top on a header off an assist from Kate Murphy.
ALL-TIME SERIES VS. BRYANT: The Mount holds a 3-2 lead in the series with Bryant with all five games decided by one goal. Three of the five meetings have gone into overtime.
ABOUT ROBERT MORRIS: The Colonials are familiar with playing close games with their last 10 being decided by one or fewer goals. Like the Mount, RMU is searching for its first NEC win with a 0-2-1 league record. Led by Antonia Grese's three goals, the Colonials have beaten Duquesne and Canisius on the season and are coming off a 2-1 loss at FDU on Oct. 12.
LAST YEAR VS. ROBERT MORRIS: The Mount and the Colonials played to a 0-0 draw on Oct. 13, 2013. Then-seniors Keriann McGettigan and Kate Murphy paced the Mount's offense with three shots apiece, while goalkeepers Rachel Bourne (three saves) and Vicky Cocozza (five saves) kept Robert Morris off the scoreboard. RMU held a 22-9 edge on shots on the afternoon.
ALL-TIME SERIES VS. ROBERT MORRIS: Mount St. Mary's boasts a 12-8-3 lead in the all-time series with Robert Morris, which dates back to the Mount's first-ever win as a program on Oct. 14, 1992. RMU had won five in a row in the series before the Mount's 3-0 victory in 2012. In the 11 games versus the Colonials played in Emmitsburg, the Mount's record is 8-3-0.
IN THE NEC: Junior midfielder Emma Blair ranks in the top 10 in the Northeast Conference for goals (4, T-5th), goals per game (0.29, T-7th) and points (8, T-10th).
