Emmitsburg, Md. (September 15, 2013) -- The Mount women's tennis team came away winners in four singles matches and one doubles match to finish the Mount St. Mary's Invitational on a high note on Sunday.
In Flight A doubles, the duo of Kelly Smith and Jennifer Smith defeated teammates Samantha Pinchoff and Erin Benefiel, 8-4, to win the consolation bracket.
Kelly Smith also added a singles victory with a 4-6, 6-4, 10-4 win over Dickinson's Claire Stoner in the Flight B singles consolation finals to complete an undefeated afternoon.
Playing in the consolation finals for Flight C singles, Benefiel topped Madison Parks of Dickinson in straight sets by a 7-6 (4), 6-2 score.
The consolation finals for Flights D and E brought together teammates with Taylor D'Agostino taking down Jennifer Smith, 6-1, 6-2 in D and Kayla Barrett beating Isabella Draper, 6-2, 7-6 (5) in E.
Next on the schedule, the Mount will compete in the Bucknell Invitational on Sept. 20-22.
