PHILADELPHIA (October 5, 2013) – A dominating performance with wins in all three doubles matches as well as five out of six singles matches gave the Mount women's tennis team a 6-1 victory over La Salle on the road on Saturday afternoon.

Five players were victorious in both their doubles and singles matches for the Mount (2-1), including senior Liz Rossi, junior Taylor D'Agostino and freshmen Erin Benefiel, Elizabeth Milano and Kelly Smith.

Kelly Smith paired with her older sister Jennifer Smith at No. 1 doubles, coming away with an 8-6 win over Caitlyn Coelho and Celesta Smith of La Salle (2-2).

The two other doubles matches also finished in favor of the Mount with victories turned in by the tandems of Rossi and Samantha Pinchoff at No. 2 and Milano and Benefiel at No. 3. Rossi and Pinchoff took down Chloe Trave and Margot Tovia by a score of 8-2, while Milano and Benefiel defeated Madison Gillen and Cecile Johnson, 8-0.

The Mountaineers turned in more solid performances, scoring straight-set wins in No. 2-6 singles. Rossi came away a 6-3, 6-3 winner against the Explorers' Celesta Smith at No. 2 singles, and Kelly Smith added her fifth singles win of the season, 7-5, 6-2 against Trave at No. 3.

At the No. 4, 5 and 6 slots, the Mount continued to play well, with win by D'Agostino, Milano and Benefiel. D'Agostino finished her No. 4 singles match with a 6-0, 6-2 victory, while Milano was victorious, 6-0, 6-1 at No. 5 and Benefiel had no trouble in a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 6.

The Mount will play its fall finale on Oct. 19 at Rider.
