Lawrenceville, N.J. (October 19, 2013) -- The Mount St. Mary's women's tennis team picked up its third 6-1 win of the season, taking down Rider on Saturday afternoon to complete the fall portion of the schedule. 

The Mountaineers (3-1) won two doubles and five singles matches to move to 7-0 all-time versus Rider (0-11). 

Samantha Pinchoff and Liz Rossi downed Michelle Caravaglio and Alex Extejt, 8-1, at No. 2 doubles, and the pairing of Taylor D'Agostino and Erin Benefiel defeated Kim Leder and Annette Frankowski by a score of 8-0 at No. 3 to give the Mount the doubles point.  

Rossi continued her strong play with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Caravaglio to improve to 3-0 at No. 2 singles on the season. 

The Mount's No. 3 and 4 singles players, Kelly Smith and D'Agostino, kept pace with each other picking up their team-leading sixth singles wins with straight-set victories on Saturday. Kelly Smith defeated Kerrin Toner, 6-1, 6-0, while D'Agostino put on a dominant performance with a 6-0, 6-0 showing over Extejt. 

Also earning a 6-0, 6-0 win on the day, Jennifer Smith took down Leder at No. 5 singles. At the No. 6 slot, Danielle Nguyen secured her fourth win on the season with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Rider's Leonora Paul. 

The Mount will now turn its attention on the spring schedule.
