Mount to Face Morgan State and Monmouth This Weekend

MEN'S PREVIEW
Mount Update:
The Mount lost at Robert Morris, 4-3, on Saturday to drop to 4-11 overall and 0-3 against NEC opponents.  Mike Salomon has won three matches in a row and is now a team-best 13-7 in singles play.  He has improved his career record to 30-16 at the Mount.  The Mountaineers have lost four matches in a row and 10 of their past 11 after a 3-1 start to the season.

Morgan State Update:  Morgan State was 4-7 on the season entering yesterday's match with George Mason.  The Bears have Eric Ward playing at No. 1 singles and Kevon Charles at the No. 2 spot in the lineup.

The All-Time Series vs. Morgan State:  Mount St. Mary's holds a 5-2 advantage in the all-time series with Morgan State  The Bears have won the past two matchups, including a 4-3 victory in Emmitsburg on April 10 last year.  The Mount is 1-1 all-time at Morgan State, losing 6-1 in 2008 in the last meeting between the two schools in Baltimore.

Monmouth Update: Monmouth lost a pair of matches last weekend, losing to Villanova, 6-1, and Bryant, 4-3, to move to 6-9 on the season.  Harveer Bhalla leads the team with a 13-8 record in singles competition.

The All-Time Series vs. Monmouth:  Monmouth holds a 10-8 lead in the all-time series with the Mountaineers, having won the six matchups between the two squads.  Last year, the Hawks posted a 6-1 victory over the Mount in West Long Branch on April 11 before earning a 4-0 win in the NEC Tournament Quarterfinals five days later.

Up Next:  Mount St. Mary's hosts Delaware on Tuesday and Loyola on Wednesday to close out the regular season.  The Northeast Conference Tournament begins April 17.

WOMEN'S PREVIEW
Mount Update:

Morgan State Update:  Morgan State entered yesterday's match with George Mason with a 2-7 record on the year.  The Bears lost to Hampton, 6-1, in their last outing. 

The All-Time Series vs. Morgan State:  Mount St. Mary's has a 6-1 lead in the all-time series with the Bears.  Last year, the Mount posted a 7-0 sweep against Morgan State on April 10 at the MSM Tennis Courts.  The Mount has won five in a row against Morgan State.

Monmouth Update: The Hawks are 4-9 overall and 2-3 in the Northeast Conference after a 5-1 win over Wagner on Wednesday.  Brooke Verdiglione has a team-best 10-8 record in singles action this season. 

The All-Time Series vs. Monmouth:  Mount St. Mary's has won 10 matches in a row against Monmouth to take a 12-3 lead in the all-time series.  The Mountaineers have posted 7-0 sweeps of Monmouth in each of the past two seasons.  Mount St. Mary's is 4-1 all-time against Monmouth on the road.
