Women's Tennis Loses to Sacred Heart, 4-0, in Northeast Conference Quarterfinals

West Windsor, N.J. (April 15, 2011)--Fifth-seeded Mount St. Mary's lost to fourth-seeded Sacred Heart, 4-0, in the quarterfinals at the Northeast Conferece Championships at the Mercer County Tennis Center.

The Pioneers swept the doubles matches to earn the doubles point.  Samantha Pinchoff and Kelly Conroy were edged at No. 2 doubles, 8-6, while Emma Haley and Carly Landini fell 8-3 at the No. 3 spot.

In singles action, Elizabeth Harrington downed Pinchoff, 6-4, 6-4, at No. 2 singles.  Gabi Kaldan was a straight-set winner over Conroy at No. 3 singles while Delaney Downing posted a 7-5, 6-2 win over Renee Deane at No. 6 singles

Landini's match at No. 4 singles was halted in the third set while Haley's match at No. 5 singles was also stopped in the third set.

The consolation matches for Saturday have been cancelled.  The Mount finishes the 2010-11 season with a 12-8 record.
