Men's and Women's Tennis to Play George Mason and UMES This Weekend

MEN'S PREVIEW
Mount Update:
The Mount St. Mary's men's tennis team enters the weekend with a 4-9 overall record after falling at Bucknell, 6-1, on Tuesday afternoon. Mike Salomon played at No. 1 singles for the first time this season against the Bison and earned the Mount's lone point of the day. Salomon leads the Mount with 11 singles wins this year. The Mount has struggled out of the gate this spring, losing eight of its past nine matches.

George Mason Update: The Patriots enter Friday's match with a 6-7 record after defeating Loyola, 4-3, on Tuesday. George Mason won the doubles point and earned victories at the top thre spots in the lineup to secure the win. Kevin McMillen, Taylor Sargent and Jordan Borsanyi won at No. 1, NO. 2 and No. 3 singles, respectively, to lead the Patriots to the win.

Maryland-Eastern Shore Update: Maryland-Eastern Shore is 2-8 this season after losing to Virginia State, 4-3, in their last match. Emmash Sudusinghe and MarQuet Robinson have split time between the No. 1 and No. 2 spots in the lineup for the Hawks. UMES owns wins over Coppin State and Virginia Union this season.

The All-Time Series vs. George Mason: Mount St. Mary's is 6-18 all-time against George Mason since moving to NCAA Division I in 1989. Last year, the Mount earned a 4-3 victory over the Patriots at the MSM Tennis Courts. The Mount has won five of the past eight matchups between the two teams.

The All-Time Series vs. Maryland-Eastern Shore: The Mount is 1-0 all-time against UMES, defeating the Hawks, 7-0, at home on April 5, 2008.

Career Numbers: Senior Andrew Marinucci has compiled 37 individual doubles wins during his Mount career, moving him into a tie for ninth on the school's all-time list. Marinucci has teamed with fellow senior Patrick Plastow for a 9-8 record this season at No. 3 doubles.

Sophomore Sensations: Sophomores Matthew Blake and Mike Salomon have compiled impressive career numbers at the Mount over their first year and a half. Blake, who is playing at the No. 1 spot in the order, is 26-11 (.703) during his career in singles matches. Salomon, who is playing No. 2 singles, is 28-16 (.636) so far in singles matches at the Mount.

Up Next: The Mount returns to action on Saturday, April 2, with a pair of NEC matches at Robert Morris. The Mountaineers will face St. Francis (N.Y.) at 8:00 a.m. and host Robert Morris at 1:00 p.m.

WOMEN'S PREVIEW
Mount Update:
Mount St. Mary's lost at Bucknell, 6-1, on Tuesday afternoon to fall to 8-6 on the season. Kelly Conroy won 2-6, 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3 singles to provide the Mount's point in the match. Conroy leads the team with 11 singles wins this year and is 9-5 in dual matches at the No. 3 spot in the lineup. She has teamed with Samantha Pinchoff to go 12-6 in doubles play, including 10-4 in dual matches.

George Mason Update: George Mason enters Friday's match with a 14-9 record this year. The Patriots went 3-2 at the Springfest in Hilton Head, S.C., from March 14-18. Allison Wingo leads George Mason with a 16-7 record in singles play while Brooke Blackwell is 14-7.

Maryland-Eastern Shore Update: The Hawks are 2-8 this season after defeating Coppin State, 7-0, in their last match. Solana McMillan plays at the No. 1 spot in the lineup while Arshell Jackson leads the team in singles wins.

The All-Time Series vs. George Mason: The Mount is 7-12 all-time against George Mason since moving to NCAA Division I in 1989. The Mount lost 7-0 last year at home to the Patriots and has dropped 11 of the past 12 matches in the series.

The All-Time Series vs. Maryland-Eastern Shore: The Mountaineers are 1-0 all-time against the Hawks, posting a 7-0 win on April 5, 2008, in Emmitsburg, Md.

Bolchoz Among Career Leaders: Senior Emily Bolchoz has moved into fourth place on the Mount's all-time singles wins list. Bolchoz is now 67-33 in her career at the Mount in singles play, including 9-10 this year at the No. 1 spot in the lineup. Bolchoz is 56-25 in singles dual matches at the Mount, good for second on the all-time list.

Bolchoz in Doubles Play: Emily Bolchoz is approaching the school record for individual doubles wins. The senior is 54-37 in her career in doubles play, good for third on the all-time list. Jennifer Sheehe (1991-95) owns the school mark with 58 career doubles victories. Bolchoz is 45-32 in dual matches, three shy of matching Chelsea Johnson (2006-10) for the school record of 48.

Haley Moves into Top 10: Senior Emma Haley has won 49 doubles matches in her career at the Mount, good for fourth on the all-time list. Haley is 10-7 this year in singles play, moving her career record to 41-34 at the Mount.
