Women's Tennis Loses at Navy, 6-1, to Open Spring Season

Mount St. Mary's lost to Navy, 6-1, on Sunday night to open the spring season. The Mountaineers are now 4-2 on the season.

Navy took two of three doubles matches to earn the doubles point. The Mount's Kelly Conroy and Samantha Pinchoff won at No. 2 doubles, 8-6, over Brittney Boucher and Darien Sears. Navy, however, won at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles to secure the point. Emani Decquir and Stefanie Ton posted an 8-3 win over Emily Bolchoz and Renee Deane at No.1 while the Mount's Carly Landini and Emma Haley fell to Natalie Houle and Caitlin Olsen, 8-2, at No. 3 doubles.

In singles play, Haley provided the Mount's point with a 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 win over Houle at No. 5 singles. Conroy fell to Dye Das, 7-6 (8-6), 1-6, 10-5 in a hard-fought match at No. 3 singles. Bolchoz fell to Amanda Griffin, 6-3, 6-1, at No. 1 singles with Pinchoff losing 6-2, 6-3 to Erin Snook at No. 2. Landini fell to Katie Laderer, 6-3, 6-1 at the No. 4 spot with Dean falling to Haley Adams, 7-5, 6-2, at No. 6.

The Mount returns to action Sunday, Feb. 20, at 12:00 p.m. at Lehigh.
