LAKEWOOD, N.J. - Christina Koerper (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Mount
St. Joseph Academy) finished fourth after the first round to lead
the Mount St. Mary's women's golf team to a fifth-place standing at
the Monmouth Invitational on Saturday.
Koerper posted a 42 in the first nine holes and a 38 in the back
nine to post a first-round score of 80 to place fourth, two strokes
behind the current leader.
Christina Hall (Wall, N.J./Wall) (20th place, 90), Autumn
Serruta (Avon, Conn./Avon) (22nd place, 91), Megan Corbett
(Danbury, Conn./Danbury) (23rd place, 93) and Sarah Roe (Floral
Park, N.Y./Floral Park Memorial (26th place, 95) rounded out the
Mount's five competitors.
Fairleigh Dickinson leads the two-day event with a score of 322,
11 strokes behind Monmouth (333) while Central Connecticut State
(339), Long Island (340), the Mount (354), Toronto (369) and Wagner
(381) also participated in the event.
Mount St. Mary's returns to action in the final round of the
Monmouth Invitational on Sunday.
