PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Christina Koerper (Huntingdon Valley,
Pa./Mount St. Joseph) and Abbey Fry (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest)
finished tied for 64th to the lead the Mount St. Mary's women's
golf team to an 18th-place standing after the first round at the
Rutgers Fall Invitational on Friday.
Koerper posted a 43 on the front nine and a 44 on the back nine
while Fry went 44 on the first nine holes and a 43 on the final
nine holes for a total of 87 to end the first round tied for 64th,
14 strokes behind the leader.
Autumn Serruta (Avon, Conn./Avon) (77th place, 89), Sarah Roe
(Floral Park, N.Y./Floral Park Memorial) (87th place, 94) and
Christina Hall (Wall, N.J./Wall) (87th place, 94) also competed for
the Mount on the afternoon.
St. John's leads the two-day event with a score of 308, four
strokes ahead of Boston College (312) while Rutgers (316), Lehigh
(320) and Hartford (321) rounded out the top-5 teams. The
Mountaineers finished the first round in 18th place with a total of
357.
Mount St. Mary's returns to action on Saturday at the Rutgers
Invitational.
