MOONTOWNSHIP, Pa. - Christina Koerper (Huntingdon Valley,
Pa./Mount St. Joseph Academy) finished seventh after the first
round of the Holiday Inn Pittsburgh Airport Colonial Golf Classic
to lead the Mount St. Mary's women's golf team to a fourth-place
standing on Monday.
Koerper posted a 42 on each side of the golf course for a total
of 84, five strokes behind the current leader.
Autumn Serruta (Avon, Conn./Avon) (19th place, 95), Sarah Roe
(Floral Park, N.Y./Floral Park Memorial) (22nd place, 98) and Abbey
Fry (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest) (24th place, 99) also competed for
the Mount.
California (Pa.) leads the two-day event with a score of 338,
two strokes ahead of IUPUI (340) while Robert Morris (342), Mount
St. Mary's (376) and Niagara (406) round out the five-team field.
The invitational is being played at the Montour Heights Country
Club, which was voted as one of the 50 toughest courses in the
United States by Golf Digest in 2007.
Mount St. Mary's returns to action on Tuesday in the final round
of the Holiday Inn Pittsburgh Airport Colonial Golf Classic.
