Hall Posts Second-Best Round In Program History To Help Women's Golf To Top Single Round In Team History At ECAC Championships

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Freshman Christina Hall (Wall, N.J./Wall) posted the second-best score in program history to help the Mount St. Mary's women's golf team to a team one-round program record at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships on Saturday. Hall sits in ninth place and the Mount stands in 11th place going into the final round.

Hall posted a 39 on the front nine and a 39 on the final nine holes for a score of 78 to finish the first round in ninth place, six strokes behind the current leader. Hall's 78 is the second-best mark in program history, one stroke behind Katie Letsch's (Blue Point, N.Y./Bayport Blue Point) standard of 77 set at the Monmouth Invitational on Apr. 2, 2007.

The Mount's team score established a new program record for one round with a 333, two strokes better than the 335 the squad carded in the second round of the Monmouth Invitational. It marked the fifth time in team history the Mountaineers recorded a round under 340.

Along with Hall, junior Christina Koerper (Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Mount St. Joseph Academy) (35th place, 82), Maddy Martin (LaVale, Md./Allegany) (42nd place, 83), Ananda Rochita (San Francisco, Calif./Lowell) (65th place, 90) and Letsch (79th place, 95) rounded out Mount St. Mary's team players. Megan Corbett (Danbury, Conn./Danbury) (65th place, 90) competed in the event as an individual.

St. John's and Princeton lead the competition with a score of 309, two strokes ahead of Lehigh (311) while Albany (317) and Boston (319) rank in the Top-5 of the 17-team field.

The event marks the debut of new head coach Colyn Keller, who took over the coaching responsibilities after the Bucknell Invitational.

The Mount returns to action on Sunday in the final round of the ECAC Championships.
