The Mount St. Mary's women's soccer team lost at Florida
International, 4-0, on Sunday afternoon in Miami. Anna Lebo made
six saves in the loss for the Mount.
Nanna Rasmussen scored 9:14 into the game to pace Florida
International (2-4-0) to a 1-0 lead. The Mount had a chance to tie
the score, but Kelli Devine's penalty shot was wide at the 13:33
mark. Rasmussen then connected with Cassidy Proctor in the 34th
minute to give the Golden Panthers a 2-0 halftime advantage.
Two late goals by Florida International rounded out the
scoring. Michelle Casadevall and Lonne Godskesen scored in the
78th and 89th minutes, respectively, for a 4-0 final.
FIU held a 15-14 advantage in shots in the game. Karyn Farrar
had five shots to pace the Mount offense in the contest. Florida
International goalkeeper Madeline Gaman made 10 saves in the
victory.
The Mount returns home to battle UMBC on Thursday, Sept. 21, at
the MSM Soccer Field.
