The Mount St. Mary's women' soccer team lost at Florida
Atlantic, 2-0, on Friday evening in a non-conference matchup in
Boca Raton, Fla. Goalkeeper Anna Lebo made seven saves to pace the
Mount. Florida Atlantic (3-2-2) scored two goals in the final 13
minutes of the game to earn the victory.
Lebo kept the Mount (1-4) in the game in the first half, making
four saves as the Owls, who advanced to the NCAA Tournament last
year, off the scoreboard. Florida Atlantic outshot the Mount 15-0
in the first half and 29-3 in the game.
The game remained scoreless until 12:07 left in the contest when
Michele Fazzari tapped the ball into the goal when Lebo challenged
on the play. Susanna Lehtinen had an assist on the play. FAU
rounded out the scoring when Alicia Tirelli lofted a shot from 25
yards out past Lebo with 3:24 left in the game.
Colleen Regan, Jenn Baker and Kelli Devine each had shots for
the Mount while Lehtinen and Tirelli each posted seven shots for
Florida Atlantic.
The Mount returns to action on Sunday with an 11:30 a.m. game at
Florida International.
