The Mount St. Mary's women's soccer team lost at Quinnipiac,
1-0, in Northeast Conference action in Hamden, Conn. Goalkeeper
Anna Lebo (Walkersville, Md./Walkersville) made 12 saves in a
losing effort.
The game remained scoreless until 26:29 left in the game when
Quinnipiac's Susan Donovan tallied the game-winning goal. Kathryn
Cellino lofted a ball over the Mount defense that Donovan corralled
and lofted a shot from 25 yards out over Lebo's head for the only
score of the contest.
Lebo kept the Mount (3-9-0, 1-3-0 NEC) in the game with several
point-blank saves. The Bobcats (8-2-2, 2-0-2 NEC) outshot the
Mount, 19-6, in the game while holding a 6-3 edge in corner kicks.
Jenn Baker (Frederick, Md./St. John's at Prospect Hall) had two
shots to lead the Mount offense.
Quinnipiac now leads the all-time series, 7-0-2. In the past
four meetings, the Mount is 0-2-2 vs. the Bobcats with a pair of
one-goal losses and two draws.
The Mount returns to action on Tuesday with a 4:00 p.m. game at
Longwood.
