The Mount St. Mary's women's soccer team defeated Fairleigh
Dickinson, 4-2, at the MSM Soccer Field on Sunday afternoon to even
its Northeast Conference record at 1-1 on the year. Junior Karyn
Farrar paced the Mount with a goal and an assist in the game.
The Mount (3-7-0, 1-1-0 NEC) struck first when Farrar tallied
her first goal of the season on an assist from Jenn Baker 15:46

Mount St. Mary's made it 2-0 when Meghan Haspert took a through
ball from Kelli Devine and beat Clark to her left. It was
Haspert's team-leading fourth goal of the season. Mount St.
Mary's added a third goal at the 32:31 mark when a Mount shot
toward goal was headed by a FDU player into their own net.
The Knights got on the scoreboard with 9:40 left in the first
half when Christine Niven buried a shot from eight yards out.
Fairleigh Dickinson had played the ball to the middle of the field
where Zaida Castillo set the ball up for Niven's first goal of the
year.
The score remained 3-1 until 3:50 left in the game when the
Mount's Alyssa Flora tallied her first goal of the year on a pass
from Karyn Farrar. FDU's Liza Offreda finished the scoring when
she scored on a breakaway with five seconds left in the game.
