Shirley Liang joined the Mount St. Mary's athletic staff as the Compliance/Academic Assistant ahead of the 2023-24 season. This capacity serves a role in ensuring compliance with NCAA bi-laws, as well as academic standards from association, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and the university.Â
Liang was a three-year member of the tennis team under then-head coach Barrett Elkins. A MAAC All-Academic Team member, she totaled 25 singles victories in a Mountaineers uniform and another 25 in doubles competition. In her final season, she helped the Mount qualify for the MAAC Championship in their first season in the new league.Â
