Chris McFarlane begins his third year at Mount St. Mary's in2012-13 as the Senior Director of Athletic Development. McFarlanearrived in Emmitsburg in July of 2010 as the Director of AthleticDevelopment before being promoted to Senior Director of AthleticDevelopment in August of 2011.
McFarlane is directly responsible for the oversight of allaspects related to revenue generation for the Mount St.Mary’s athletic department, including all annual fund, majorgift, and capital project initiatives. All corporate athleticpartnerships and team fundraising activities also fall underMcFarlane’s direction, as he will continue to lead all phasesof the Mount Club.
McFarlane is a member of the National Association of AthleticDevelopment Directors (NAADD) and also serves as the developmentrepresentative for the Northeast Conference (NEC). In addition,McFarlane completed the prestigious NCAA Leadership Institute in2011.
McFarlane came to the Mount after working for the previous threeyears at Loyola University Maryland. While with the Greyhounds, hecreated strategic direction and managed the annual athletic fundfor 18 intercollegiate sports. In addition, McFarlane assisted withall corporate, planned and capital giving support for athletics,including the $62 million Ridley Athletic Complex that houseslacrosse, soccer and rugby. While with Loyola, he helped theathletic department achieve dramatic increases in dollars anddonors and served on the Executive Board of Black Faculty Staff andAdministrators and as a mentor to minority male students oncampus.
A 2003 graduate of Florida State University, he earned master'sdegrees in Sport Business Management and Business Administrationfrom the University of Central Florida in 2005.
