Biography
2013-14 SEASON: Competed in all nine events as a senior… One of the Mount’s top performers in the short-distance races… Helped break school records in the 200 medley relay (1:46.41) and 400 medley relay (3:54.54) at the Northeast Conference Championships… Posted the Mount’s top two 50 free times of the season of 24.34 and 24.36 at the NEC Championships to win the B final… Broke one minute in the 100 fly (59.54) in the prelims of the NEC Championships… Posted best 100 free (53.93) time of the season in the prelims of the NEC Championships... Earned a place on the NEC Academic Honor Roll.
2012-13 SEASON: Member of the Mount’s 200 freestyle relay team that earned Third Team All-Northeast Conference accolades… Took second in the 50 free with a 25.84 finish against Saint Francis U (10-13-12)… Posted a season-best 50 free time of 24.20, which was the second-fastest by a Mount swimmer this season, at the NEC Championships to capture eighth place (2-28-13)… Also had best 100 free time of 54.46 at the NEC Championships… NEC Academic Honor Roll selection.
2011-12 SEASON: Took seventh in the NEC Championships for the 50 free with a season-best effort of 24.17 (2-23-12)… Placed sixth in the B finals of the 100 free at the NEC Championships in 54.11… Part of the team’s 200 freestyle relay team that captured Second Team All-NEC honors thanks to a 1:35.12 finish at the NEC Championships.
2010-11 SEASON: Finished first in the 100 breast (1:19.17) and third in both the 400 IM (5:04.02) and the 100 back (1:04.95) against Saint Francis (Pa.) on Oct. 23, 2010… Placed third in the 100 fly (1:09.18) in wins against Manhattan, Saint Peter’s and VMI on Oct. 29, 2010… Finished third in the 200 IM (2:36.34) in wins against Manhattan, Saint Peter’s and VMI on Oct. 30, 2010… Placed second in both the 100 back (1:03.89) and 200 back (2:16.95) against Howard and Loyola on Nov. 13, 2010… Finished second in the 200 IM (2:37.45) against Radford on Dec. 4, 2010… Placed second in the 100 fly (1:03.41) against VMI and Liberty on Jan. 16, 2011… Finished first in the 50 free (25.16) and second in the 100 back (1:04.53) against Wagner on Jan. 29, 2011… Placed first in the 200 back (2:18.01) against St. Francis (N.Y.) on Jan. 30, 2011.
HIGH SCHOOL: A four-year letterwinner on the Archbishop John Carroll girl's swimming team... Served as team captain in her senior year... Named Most Valuable Player all four years and she was a four-time All-Main Line and All-Delco swimmer... Nabbed 15 All-Catholic first-team honors... Earned All-State honors in the butterfly in 2010 and All-State honorable mention in 2009... Notched a school record in the butterfly in her senior season... Helped her squad to the 2009 and 2010 district title.
PERSONAL: Majoring in Marketing... The daughter of Victoria and William Walsh... Mollie Ruth Walsh was born on Aug. 13, 1992 in Drexel Hill, Pa.
