2014-15 SEASON: Saw action in all 11 events during junior season for the Mountaineers… Helped break school record in the 400 medley relay (3:54.28) at the Northeast Conference Championships… Posted season-best 100 free time of 53.80 at the NEC Championships… Had team’s second-fastest 200 free time (1:56.08) of the season at the NEC Championships… Part of the 200 free relay team at the NEC Championships that posted a time of 1:40.61… Won the 100 free (57.30) at St. Francis Brooklyn… Moved into the Mount’s top 10 list for 50 free (25.48) in eighth, 100 free (53.80) in fifth and 200 free (1:56.08) in fifth.

2013-14 SEASON: Competed in all nine team events as a sophomore for the Mount… Moved to sixth on the Mount’s top 10 list for the 100 free (54.38) at the NEC Championships… Had a season-best time in the 50 free (26.40) versus Loyola… At the Radford Invitational, swam a season best in the 200 free (2:01.18)… Ranks 10th in program history for the 500 free (5:27.33) following performance at the NEC Championships… Took ninth on the Mount’s top 10 for the 1000 free (11:33.86) against Loyola… Competed on the freestyle relay teams, helping to break the school record for the 800 free relay (7:45.57) at the NEC Championships. 

2012-13 SEASON: Competed in eight events as a freshman… Part of the Mount’s winning 200 medley relay team in 2:06.88 against VMI and McDaniel (10-27-12)… Posted a season-best 50 freestyle time of 26.63 in a dual versus Duquesne (1-12-13)… Swam a top time of 57.63 in the 100 freestyle against Loyola (2-2-13)… Put together a 5:30.96 finish in the 500 freestyle at the Northeast Conference Championships (2-28-13). 

HIGH SCHOOL: Earned four varsity letters as a swimmer… Coached by David Swaney at Montgomery Blair.

PERSONAL: Born March 11, 1994… Daughter of Claudina and Ulises Castro… Has an older sister, Tamara… Majoring in International Studies.
