Biography

AS A JUNIOR:  Finished in sixth place at the NEC Cross Country Championships to earn third consecutive All-NEC honor...Also ran in the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional during cross country season...Indoors, finished in fifth place in the 5000m run at the NEC Championships...Outdoors, earned Second Team All-NEC honors in the 5000m run by finishing in second place at the NEC Championships with a time of 14:51.81...Also scored in the 10000m run, finishing fourth with a time of 31:24.21.

AS A SOPHOMORE:  Named All-Northeast Conference for a second year in a row after finishing ninth at the NEC Championships...Ran career best 25:22 in the 8km at Navy Invitational, earning a top 10 finish...Competed in the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional running 35:03 for the 10km course...During the indoor season, set a personal best  15:31.79 in the 5000m at the Navy Invitational, and ran 9:03.26 to set a personal best in the 3000m at the Northeast Conference Championships...Outdoors, set a personal record 14:42.75 in the 5000m at the Colonial Relays and a lifetime best 31:39.64 in the 10,000m at the Bucknell Outdoor Classic...Scored in two events at the Northeast Conference Outdoor Championships placing fourth in the 5000m and seventh in the 10,000m.

AS A FRESHMAN:  Earned All-Northeast Conference honors in cross country after finishing fifth overall at the NEC Championships...Earned NEC Rookie of the Week honors twice during the season...Opened the year with a top 20 finish at the Mount St. Mary's 5K Duals to earn first Rookie of Week honor...Second Rookie of Week award came after top 10 finish at the Towson Invitational...Posted a time of 27:0.7 for the course at Holmdel, N.J....Indoors, had best time of the season in the 5000m run at the NEC Championships...Outdoors, finished sixth in the 10000m run at the NEC Championships with a time of 32:18.76.

HIGH SCHOOL: Participated on both the Cross Country and Track teams at Urbana High School...A part of seven time winning County Champion Cross Country Team...Helped his team get 3rd place at States in 2006...In his junior year he was the 1 mile and 2 mile County Champion for Track...In his senior year he won 2nd place at States for Cross Country...He also placed 52nd in Cross Country at the Northeast U.S. Regional Qualifier.

PERSONAL: Parents are Barbara and Jon Bernard...Has one sister, Emily...Born April 10, 1990...Majoring in computer science
