Mount St. Mary's University

Karington Smith, a top-tier hurdler for the Mount St. Mary's track & field team, returned to the team as an assistant coach during the 2025-26 season. While an athlete in Emmitsburg, she earned third place in the 100m at the 2021 Northeast Conference Championships, registered a top 10 program time in the 60m hurdles, and assisted in winning the 2019 Northeast Conference Women's Track & Field Indoor Championship. 

The position is Smith's first foray into coaching. In between his competing tenure and coaching tenure, she worked in financial management and auditing, with work experience at Barsz Gowie Amon & Fultz, LLC, Barbacane, Thornton & Company, and Kearney & Company. As a student at the Mount, she worked as a compliance intern in the athletic department. 

She earned her bachelor's degree in accounting from the Mount in 2021.
