Poole is entering his seventh season at The Mount and third as the Head Cross Country Coach. Since taking over the distance program there have been 10 new top ten performances across the men’s and women’s team. During the 2022 cross-country season and the first season within the MAAC he coached Molly Connelly to All-MAAC honors with her 13th place finish at the conference championship. During the 2021 cross-country season Poole coached John Wang to All-NEC honors with his second-place finish in the NEC cross-country championship. Building off of cross-country Poole coached Colin Kelly to a first team All-NEC finish in the 800m as he won the 2022 NEC outdoor 800m. Kelly followed up his stellar performance a week later by becoming an IC4A champion in the men’s 800m with a time of 1:49.61. Senior Alexandra Kay also earned All-NEC honors at the 2022 outdoor NEC championship with her second-place finish in the 3k steeplechase.  

Poole also serves as the horizontal jumps coach, a position he’s held since 2018. During his time as the jumps coach his athletes and has seen success on the conference and national level. While serving as the horizontal jumps coach his athletes have set 15 top ten marks across the men and women. Poole coached Dylan LaNoue to 3 consecutive NCAA East Preliminary Round meets from 2021-2023 and to both the indoor and outdoor school record in the triple jump. At the 2020 NEC Indoor Conference Championship Poole coached sophomore LaNoue as he won the Long Jump and High Jump while placing 4th in the Triple Jump. For his stellar performance LaNoue was awarded the NEC’s Most Outstanding Field Performer (Jumps) as well as the NEC’s Most Valuable Performer. This was the first Indoor MVP award to a Mount Men’s athlete since 1998. LaNoue followed that performance by earning the 2021 Outdoor NEC Most Outstanding Field Performer (Jumps) by coming second in the long and high jump as well as fourth in the triple jump. In 2023 LaNoue won the Indoor and Outdoor MAAC Most Outstanding Field Performer to cap his career at The Mount.

The 2023 indoor season also saw him coach freshman Jovana Miloradovic to tie the indoor school record in the triple jump.

A 2017 graduate of The Mount, Poole competed in the sprints and relay events during his career. A former captain on the track team, he was a multiple time NEC medalist, IC4A qualifier, and multiple All-Conference performer. He holds performances currently on The Mount’s all-time top 10 list in the indoor and outdoor 400m, as well as the 500m.

Poole received his MBA from Mount St. Mary’s in 2020 and holds a B.A. in International Studies with a minors in French and Philosophy.
