The Mount welcomes a familiar face to the coaching staff as Christine Keleher returns this season as an assistant coach. Keleher was the Mount's assistant coach and pitching coach in 2011 and 2012.
Keleher, a former college teammate of head coach Anna Nagro while at St. Bonaventure, coached her first season at the Mount in 2011. One of the best pitchers to ever don a Bonnies' uniform, Keleher graduated as the program's all-time leader in wins (46) and shutouts (10) while ranking second in appearances (91), starts (79), complete games (73), strikeouts (384) and innings pitched (576.2). She also holds the single-season program record for wins in a season with 18 in 2006 and was the first player in program history to post two double-digit win seasons. She was a two-time All-Atlantic 10 selection.
She was inducted into the St. Bonaventure Hall of Fame in 2018, the Kemore West Athletics Hall of Fame in 2011 and will be inducted into the New York State Softball Hall of Fame in 2024.
A Tonawanda native, Keleher starred on the Kenmore West 2002 Class A state championship team with a 26-2 record with 211 strikeouts in 173 innings, despite a back injury, and was named to the All-Western New York team and the state Player of the Year. On the championship run, she allowed just six runs in six postseason games with an earned run average of 0.28 and recorded 12 strikeouts in the state title game.
