Former Northeast Conference Men’s Tennis Scholar-Athleteof the Year, Mike Salomon, will return to his almamater as an assistant tennis coach beginning in 2013-14.
Salomon finished his four-year career as the Mount’scareer singles leader with 74 victories. The Haymarket, Va. nativecompiled a 74-33 singles record, including a program record 56 dualmatch singles wins. His 56 wins in doubles play are also the mostby any Mount player in school history.
A 2012 First Team All-Northeast Conference selection for No. 4singles, Salomon helped lead the Mountaineers to the NEC Semifinalsas a junior and senior. Following his junior campaign, Salomon wasnamed the NEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year for men’stennis.
As a senior in 2012-13, Salomon received the Sheridan Award,which is also voted on by the Mount athletic department, is for thecollege student-athlete, who, through athletic and academicachievement, has exemplified the spirit and dedication demanded byintercollegiate athletics, and who, through such activity hasfostered the ideals of Monsignor John L. Sheridan and Mount St.Mary's University.
Salomon graduated from the Mount in 2013 with a degree inEconomics. He is currently working toward his MBA at theMount.
